HD is a great band, too bad it's not as widely known as it deserves to be, here and in Europe.

Agree on forgiveness; what I meant specifically with the power of music here is its ability to release us, emotionally, from our inner knots which contribute to anger and resentment. I dare say listening to good music has the potential to make some* of us better people, at least for a while. :)

*As the applicability of this rule varies greatly among individuals.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32095600.post-48477097781216085402008-12-17T14:43:00.000-06:002008-12-17T14:43:00.000-06:00Thanks Elizabeth! The idea of forgiving someone else is the product of an arrogance we'd do well to set aside. Better to focus upon allowing ourselves release from the need for penitence; the "forgiveness" we feel entitled to bestow at will upon others will fade of its own accord.

BTW - LOVED the "dogs!" I wonder whether they'll ever strike a resonant chord here in the US... I'll just mention how struck I am, reading your post, by the power of music to help us... forgive. Hm.

Now off to my "18 Dogs" (and the rest of Hank Dogs), playing on a continuous loop since Saturday. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
